  • VORTEX2 field phase 1: 10 May - 13 June 2009


  • VORTEX2 PI's should consider the possibility of the Year 2 Field Phase being extended to 01 May - 15 June 2010 if additional NSF funding becomes available.

  • VORTEX2 Media Day 8 May 2009 at National Weather Center in Norman Oklahoma. All instruments and groups are encouraged to attend.

  • There will be an all-PI meeting immediately after end of 1st year operations. Location: in the field. Date: Approx 13 June 2009. Agenda: Discussion of 1st year cases, possible collaborations and analysis plans.

  • There may be a VORTEX2 session at the next AMS Conference on Meteorological Observations and Instrumentation held with the Annual Meeting 17-21 Jan 2010. Announcement will be in May BAMS with abstracts due in early August.

  • VORTEX2 status (as of 2008, but still relatively current)

  • Second Field Phase: 2010: formally: 10 May - 31 May, with a possible extension, depending on funding, to 1 May - 15 June.
