We were hoping to hit a few thunderstorms on the way back into Texas but we were on the back edge of the cold front and weren`t in the most favorable location. That`s ok because we did technically see a tornado last night with the supercell I mentioned in an earlier post. If you haven`t read it yet, make sure you check it out because it links to some of the raw real time video we shot at the time.

I`m exhausted after three full days of chasing, but I could keep going. I can see how the VORTEX2 crew does it for six weeks straight! The excitement of last night`s chase made up for all the down time waiting for something to happen. In reading a lot of their blog posts, they are satisfied with the data they collected on last night`s storms. Today`s storm risk is marginal so they may or may not be on the road again today.

By the way, I never did get to check Kansas off my list of states visited. But, I can now say I`ve had the full tour of Oklahoma. I can`t think of what else would have brought me to places like Perry, Shawnee, Clinton, and Weatherford, OK. If you ever find yourself in Clinton make sure you stop for lunch at Gayla`s at the Market for lunch` it was the best meal we had all week!

Perhaps I`ll get to cover VORTEX3 if and when that may happen. There was a 15 year gap between VORTEX1 and 2 so it may be a long wait. I`ll be back in the studio again on Friday, but if you want to keep up with VORTEX2, I recommend reading their blog which is updated daily. That`s what I`ll be doing, to see if their chase brings them in the direction of Central Texas. If that is the case, I`ll try to get back on board!
